A Good Cause

2007 was supposed to be the year of the stash. That has not gone so well. I have picked up new projects and the stashbusting has been left by the wayside. Mainly because I have in the past been a novelty yarn whore. I have tons of it. Mainly enough for scarves or small projects. What to do what to do.

When I turned on the news that fateful morning at Virginia Tech tears sprang to my eyes. I felt such pain for the parents who bravely sent their children off to school to learn so they could in some way make the world a better place. Warn your children about credit card offers, binge drinking, but who ever thinks about psychotic lunatics? I found a Knit A Long (aka KAL) that I can really get behind. It is in memory of Mary Read a freshman who was killed at Norris Hall that day. She liked to knit fluffy pretty scarves. I plan to use my stash to knit as many scarves in her name as I can before the cold weather returns. We cannot bring them back but we can honor their memory and maybe do a little good.

That is a great idea and I think it's wonderful you are doing it!
